What is chromium yeast?
Chromium yeast is yeast grown in a broth that contains the mineral chromium, so the chromium becomes part of the yeast itself. It's then dried into a fine powder. The yeast is simply the form the trace mineral comes in.
Where it comes from
Chromium is a trace mineral found in soil and rock, and in small amounts in foods like broccoli, potatoes, green beans and whole grains.
The yeast is a single-celled fungus, a close cousin of the baker's yeast that raises bread.
