What is green tea leaf extract?
Green tea leaf extract is made by steeping green tea leaves and concentrating what comes out into a powder. It comes from the same plant as the tea in your cup, Camellia sinensis, so it carries a little natural caffeine.
Where it comes from
Green tea is the leaf of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub grown on misty hillsides in Japan, China and India.
The leaves are steamed or pan-fired soon after picking, which keeps them green.
